Wednesday 27th May – Seaside

Writing a list

This week for writing we are going to think about what you might take with you to the beach.

We are going to write a list! A list is when you write down a few or several things that you need.

You might write a shopping list, a to do list, a list of things to pack when you go away.

So we are going to pretend we are going to the seaside. (Fingers crossed we might get to go sometime soon). We need to think of all the things we might need and then write a list of them.

I have also attached a beach bag template. You could write your list on the page and then draw and label all your items in the bag? If you have magazines maybe you could cut out some items and stick them into your bag, then you could have a go at writing out the word.

Attached are some word mats to help you with the spelling of some words you might want to use.

When you are going to write a list you can start it off with ‘I need’.

For example,

I need sunglasses, a hat, a towel, a banana and water.

Remember to include a capital I and a full stop at the end of the sentence.

Or you could write you list vertically –

I need:

  • Sunglasses
  • A hat
  • A towel
  • A banana
